– “ And that swaying of lights and shadows on the water moved by the boats: “They look like bottles of champagne floating!” he said. One day when I accompanied him in the gondola, we saw the majestic domes of Salute sprouting from a line of white and light blu briccole.”
– Memorie di un mercante di quadri – Ambroise Vollard
The wood of the Venetian briccole has great value. These are those tripods made of wooden poles that are planted in water to mark the routes in the canals of Venice. After about ten years, the briccole are replaced due to the wear of the seawater, that digs the surface leaving however unchanged the inner part of the trunk.
Being a unique wood of historical value, the project of recovery of the Briccole of Venice was born. Thanks to this initiative the briccola is sold at auction to the furniture makers, who after performing appropriate stabilizing treatments, use it for the manufacture of high-quality furniture.
The furniture obtained are truly unique pieces and allow stylistic combinations of all kinds.
In addition to the dedicated collections it is possible to use this wood for custom projects. The companies with which we collaborate follow every stage of the process, to ensure a proposal in line with the expectations of the customer by enhancing the characteristics of this wood.
