The workspace is undergoing a flexibility-oriented change as a strong point, effectively reversing the traditional concept of control, fixed times and assigned workstations. This transaction is accelerating by at least five years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The concept of flexibility today is articulated in two aspects that will determine its future.
The office will be open, flexible and high-tech and will dialogue with the city and the territory.
These local offices will be smaller and decentralized, but at the same time, they will make it possible to reach the headquarters quickly, creating greater organizational autonomy.
The office of the future is figured at the top of a staircase. A ground floor housing services such as events, cultural initiatives to create a network of social relationships and interactions, and a close-up to work remotely.
In this process, the design task is to respond to the need of the future, making the environments more welcoming by increasing the aesthetic quality to stimulate teamwork. These spaces must become hubs of ideas and creativity.
The key concepts for design are:
– Project development from a distributed workforce perspective
– Reduction of workstations (about 30% less)
– Easily reconfigurable environments
– Flexible separations between individual workstations
– Desks and chairs of different heights
– Lighting systems calibrated and set according to the user
– Indoor and outdoor air detection systems
– Interactive displays to monitor occupancy and accessibility of areas
Design must converge in the aesthetic and functional part towards a more excellent safety feeling, allowing to customize the individual spacing solutions.
